NOW HIRING: TRUCKING COMPANY DISPATCHER

Location: Deer Park, TX
Job Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Salary: $45,000–$55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
Work Arrangement: In-Person

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Trucking Company Dispatcher to join our growing logistics and transportation team in Deer Park.

This position will play an important role in coordinating communication between customers, drivers, ports, and internal operations teams to ensure pickups, deliveries, and empty returns are scheduled efficiently and completed within required timeframes.

The ideal candidate has previous Port of Houston dispatch experience , excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment where plans can change quickly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficiently schedule and coordinate port pickups, customer deliveries, and empty container returns within applicable free-time requirements.
• Serve as a primary communication link between customers, drivers, and the operations team.
• Communicate directly with customers and drivers by phone, email, and in person.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer and driver inquiries.
• Monitor and manage email communications and maintain an organized inbox.
• Maintain accurate records of customer and driver interactions and transactions.
• Follow up on customer requests, questions, and outstanding issues.
• Coordinate schedule changes and resolve last-minute transportation or delivery issues.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
• Identify opportunities for improving dispatch and operational processes.
• Provide timely updates regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and schedule changes.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and last-minute operational needs.
• Perform other transportation and dispatch-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2–3 years of trucking dispatch experience involving the Port of Houston required.
• Experience coordinating port pickups, deliveries, and empty returns.
• Knowledge of PortPro preferred .
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook .
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to remain composed and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Flexible and adaptable when schedules or circumstances change.
